Getting CoverGirl LipSlicks in Clear when I was 8. My mom totally convinced me that it was color because of the bubble gum pink tube. I loved it; I thought I was so cool.

The biggest makeup mistakes I made when I was younger was no blush— for years—just pasty white foundation and too much powder, and dark nude lip liner and super pale lipstick.

The legendary Shu Uemura and the great Pat McGrath are my makeup role models.
